Coach John Small was introduced as Head Coach of the Indians in 2017 after previously serving as the Head Coach at South Gwinnett High School from 2005-2016.  Before becoming the head coach at South Gwinnett he served as Defensive Coordinator and assistant principal at Oconee County High School from 2002-2004.  Prior to that he served as an assistant at South Gwinnett High School from 1999-2001, and an assistant coach at the University of West Georgia from 1997-1998.

Coach Small is excited about being a part of the Indian Nation and looks forward to continuing to build relationships within this great community.  His overall philosophy is to create an environment where young people desire to do their best, both on and off the field.

Coach Small and his wife Julie have two daughters; Ashton and Emma.
